According to our traditions, we organized our natural science trip in October. This time we travelled to Hortobágy. Hortobágy is the largest continuous natural grassland in Europe, which means that it was not formed as a result of deforestation or river control. The park, a part of the Alföld (Great Plain), was designated as a national park in 1973 (the first in Hungary), and elected among the World Heritage sites in 1999. The Hortobágy is Hungary’s largest protected area, and the largest semi-natural grassland in Europe.

This program is very popular with children, because it always provide interesting and fun learning activities about nature, wildlife and environmental issues. The trip was linked to the theme of the Erasmus+ project this year: the Future Green Generation project. We were delighted that the project provided 2000Ft / person support for participating children from the grant of the project management.
